As a little foal, Rio Rio was the First Place Weanling and Reserve Champion Young Horse at both the Fort Vancouver Sport Horse Show and the Beaujolais Classic in Auburn, WA. These are two of the most prestigious shows on the NW Coast and she is qualified for the Regional Championship in the Fall. She was beaten for Young Horse Champion in both shows only by her Half Sister, Wolkenkarat who was a yearling at the time.
Rio Rio had another fabulous show season 2007 resulting in many wins and championships. She was the highest scoring yearling filly for the NWSHBA in 2007, the highest scoring USDF in hand yearling filly for RPSI and Reserve Horse of the Year for USDF yearling fillies of all breeds combined. WAY TO GO RIO!
2008 added the championship at the prestigious ODS Breeder Classic at Devonwood. Again she is in the top rankings for USDF and NWSHBA.
At 30 months she already stands 16.1 hands, defeating her sires Reputation as a PONY! She is a superstar and she knows it! Proudly offered for sale, show home only!
Rio Rio has been started lightly in January of 2009 and then returned home for a few months. She went back into training and is being shown lightly in Materiale this year, with scores up to 85%. She is an absolute delight for the rider and an old professional at shows. She loves going places with lots of horses, just soaks it all in! The judges love her positive attitude, she truly wants to show! Very confident and yet totally agreeable young mare.
She has been pre vetted with a full set of CLEAN digital x rays.
Rio Rio won the gold medal at her RPSI foal inspection with a score of 8.1.
