La Prairie comes from the magic cross Londonderry/Weltmeyer which produced countless licensed stallions in recent years. The stallion Lanthan on her granddam's side is especially valuable in this combination. We have used Lanthan as the very first German stallion in our breeding program in 1995 for his immense athleticism and rideability (and did I mention the color black???).
La Prairie was just started under saddle when we imported her in 2009 and is a very good minded, rideable mare. She sustained an injury shortly after we got her here ( completely healed, no ill effects whatsoever) which caused her to take the whole summer off. We bred her to Sir Donnerhall and did an embryo transfer. The foal was sold in utero and of course turned out to be stunning black colt! Had we kept the foal it would have been a chestnut filly, right?
La Praire started showing in 2010 with some very impressive scores, she also was inspected by the AHS with a score of 7.83, the second highest for the whole year! She completed her MPT with a 7.66 La Prairiehighlited by a 9 for walk, 8 for rideability and 8 for jumping capability. La Prairie is now an Elite mare.
We also tried to breed her for an Embryo transfer again but were very disappointed when the flush turned up empty.
Ahem… the mare did not come back in heat either and in 2011 Praire gave birth to the stunning pinto filly Real Prada by Radikal.
So she missed another summer of showing, but that filly is worth it!
We are very regretfully offering this mare for sale now strictly for financial reasons, she is back in training and catching up quickly!
Her price does not reflect her outstanding quality, we just really need to downsize and we do want to keep her daughter! This mare is 100% competition and breeding sound!
SOLD! Congratulations to Carrie Fowler of Bellevue, WA!
