Welcome to Cocolalla Creek Sport Horse Park!
In 1992 we were visiting Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and were so enthralled with the area that we decided to look for our own little piece of heaven. The place we found was a pretty little rancher in a secluded mountain valley with enough land to set up a horse farm. During the ensuing years we have worked hard to convert this place into a well functioning equestrian breeding and training facility. The 2005 photos below were taken in the fall just after we completed the new stallion barn and large stallion turn-out pen
We were almost overwhelmed by the snowfall in the winter of 2008, but the regular visits by the local fauna, as well as the sight of the resident hare helped to ease the pain of almost daily snow removal in January and February. We still had a pile of snow in the yard as high as the house in April.
When we purchased the property in 1992, I had my own personal vision of how I hoped to see this place at some time in the future. During this summer of 2008, we were able to come very close to that initial dream. The photos of the "Cocolalla Creek Sport Horse Park" represent the progress that we have made in approaching that lofty goal. We still have to do substantial clean-up, burn the slash piles, and get the grass growing under the trees, but the feeling that I experience now when wandering around through the trees is close to nirvana! A guy can't ask for too much more.
Hopefully, these photos will show you what we think is a genuine horse paradise.
